The 2020 restrictions have prevented us from moving freely with our motorhomes, caravans and campers. 2021 promises to be a year in which we can enjoy those Spanish destinations that have been on our travel list for a long time. The improvement in the health situation and the vaccination campaigns make us face the next 12 months with enthusiasm and a more positive attitude regarding the return to normality of travelers.
For this reason, from Áreas Motorcaravanas we want to leave you our list of recommendations of Spanish places that you cannot miss in 2021 with your vehicle.
Estuary of the river Miño (Galicia)
The first destination is found in the north of Spain, more specifically in Galicia. We mean the magnificent Estuary of the river Miño, an area protected by the Natura 2000 Network. One of the most important wetlands in the entire location and that serves as a natural border between Galicia and Portugal.
Of great ornithological and vegetal wealth, you will be able to enjoy an exceptional viewpoint for these places from Monte de Santa Tecla, in A Guada. It is at this natural point where the river leaves behind its green Galician banks and joins the Atlantic, being the second most visited place in all of Galicia after the Cathedral of Santiago.
To enjoy this unique natural setting, the ideal is to be accompanied by our motorhome, caravan or camper and find a good location where you can spend the night. The Santa Tecla campsite it is perfectly equipped to cover all your needs.
From the north of Spain we go directly to the south and change the natural setting for the urban one. We are going to Seville, the Andalusian capital that brings together art and tradition. Its magnificent Cathedral (the largest in the world in the Gothic style) with the Giralda, the Alcázar and the Archivo de Indias They are declared a World Heritage Site. The imposing Plaza de España It is another of the main claims of the city. Get lost in the narrow streets of the Jewish quarter, enjoy some tapas in the typical bars of the city or stroll through the Old Town before heading to a neighborhood with a soul of its own: Triana, where you can enjoy flamenco and its art. Know all the places you should not miss during your visit to Seville.
To receive our vehicles we have several areas at our disposal in the Andalusian capital. Close to the city center and in a unique enclave to move around on foot or by bicycle, we find the Area Rv Seville. It is located next to the Port of Seville and a few meters from the María Luisa Park, the main green lung of the city.
If what you prefer is a quieter and more local environment, we bet on the Area La Jabega, in the Sevillian town of Dos Hermanas or in the Carcaracol Motorhome Area, in Alcalá de Guadaira. Both about 10 minutes from the city.
Cabo de Gata (Almeria)
We stay in Andalusia and head towards the eastern zone. If what you are looking for is a natural setting with dreamy beaches, we recommend Cabo de Gata. One of the star destinations to travel in 2021. Lovers of motorhomes and caravans will really enjoy the visit.
Its beautiful and hidden coves like the Cala del Plomo, Enmedio, San Pedro or El Cuervo they are essential on your list. In addition, you cannot miss the coastal villages that will give that special touch to your vacation days. Of course, you can't leave without enjoying the wonderful sunsets. We recommend the one that you can see from the lighthouse, next to the Arrecife de las Sirenas. Here we leave you one route of our visit to Cabo de Gata that can serve as a guide.
The most important thing about the trip is to choose the base from which to move around the area. In Cabo de Gata there are several options at our disposal, among which the Cabo de Gata Camper Park area, located in the same Natural Park. Also nearby are the Area Camper Park Carboneras or the Camper Park El Rancho Cabo de Gata Area.
The medieval city par excellence. Its walls make this city unique and give it the category of Heritage of Humanity. With this cover letter, it is not surprising that it is a claim among the recommended destinations to travel in 2021.
You can not stop visiting the iconic church-convent of Santa Teresa de Jesús -one of the main personalities of the city of Ávila-, the Jewish quarter or the arcaded Plaza del Mercado Chico, the main square of the city.
Undoubtedly, another of the most important locations of the walled city is its Cathedral, which mixes architectural styles of both fortress and church and contains paintings by the illustrious Pedro Berruguete. But the point and end of our visit is the Royal Monastery of Santo Tomás, linked in its beginnings to the Inquisition and converted into a summer palace for the Catholic Monarchs.
It is clear that it is worth visiting. For that same reason we have a new option there for our motorhomes. Opened in 2020, APARKAREA, Motorhome Parking, has all the comforts to make your stay unforgettable.
Algar Fountains (Alicante)
Although the province of Alicante is known for its beautiful and numerous beaches, we must also highlight the importance of inland tourism. One of the treasures that we can find is Las Fuentes del Algar, a natural refuge that has a succession of waterfalls and natural pools. These are connected to each other by a nautical channel where we can bathe in an aquatic circuit that follows the course of the Algar river and that delights the most adventurous.
The well-signposted access to the area helps make it an essential destination that you must visit if you like inland tourism. You can leave your vehicle in the area of Camping Caravaning Fonts del Algar, with a unique location that will allow you to enjoy the disconnection of the big cities.
If you liked our recommendations, do not hesitate to try them yourself. Take your motorhome, caravan or camper and set off towards the destinations you want to travel to in 2021!
