VII Guitar Festival of Seville

The seventh edition of the Guitar Festival of Seville “Signs from heaven” will take place from 5 to 15 October 2016 and will be dedicated to three great figures of the universal cultural heritage: Bartolomé Esteban Murillo, Miguel de Cervantes and Toru Takemitsu. On the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the death of the great japanese composer Toru Takemitsu (1930-1996), on the eve of the 400th anniversary of the birth of the famous sevillian painter Bartolomé Esteban Murillo (1617-1682), and as celebrations of the 400th anniversary of the death of Miguel de Cervantes (1547-1516).

Among the novelties of this year, it has established the I International Contest of flamenco Guitar in Seville with the presence of Curro Sánchez, as well as the I International Composition Competition for Guitar “Manuel de Falla”.

In addition, in this year's edition of the festival features the presence of 5 personalities with the maximum relevancy in the world of art and the japanese culture.
