“White Night” in Tarifa

“Between the spoken and the written”. This is the name of the show that will open the Tarifa “Noche en Blanco” program scheduled for October 7 and 8.

The singer-songwriter portuense Javier Ruibal and the poet Felipe Benítez Reyes They will share the stage on the night of Friday, October 7 at the Alameda Theater. It will be the start of an intense weekend that will unfold music, dance, theater, painting and exhibitions through different points of the urban fabric. Also the monumental scene of the Castle of Guzman the Good open night with guided tours at 10:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.

The singer-songwriter Javier Ruibal and the writer Felipe Benítez Reyes will arrive in Tarifa with the cultural program "Planea 2016" of the Diputación de Cádiz. Music and poetry will thus open the White Night of 2016 with an appointment open to the interested public. Access to the Alameda Theater on the night of Friday, October 7, will be governed by invitation or passes that can already be withdrawn at the Casa de Cultura, maximum four per person. There is also the option of reserving them over the Internet, at www.tickentradas.com, with the additional cost of only one euro for processing the pass.

After the inauguration on October 7, the bulk of the activities will be concentrated on Saturday afternoon-night with stages in the Calzada, the Casa de la Cultura and the Alameda focused on music, dance, theater or exhibitions. In La Calzada the offer will begin at 8:00 p.m. and will continue almost uninterruptedly until 11:00 p.m. On the stage the Aula de Flamenco de Rocío Díazmotorhome-area-ubrique belly dance by Nazaret Conde, tango by Raúl Rusconi and flamenco by Mercedes Alcalá. Starting at 9:20 p.m., the presence of the Music band “Artist Manuel Reiné”. La Calzada will also host the pictorial creation live by Blanca Orozco and Isabel Romero. New from one of the balconies central calle Sancho IV el Bravo will sound also flamenco by Manuel Garrido from Tarifa with Fran de Algeciras on guitar.

Almost at the same time, another stage for cultural leisure will be at the Casa de la Cultura with the theatre performance “Stuff of life” from 9:30 p.m.

The music agenda will close with the presence of the duo of singer-songwriters “Antílopez”. The performance of the revelation group will be at the Alameda Theater starting at 10:30 p.m. with advance ticket sales for the symbolic price of five euros at the Casa de la Cultura or tickentradas.com.

On the other hand, as a novelty it will also be possible to visit the castle of Guzman the Good and the interpretation centre both Friday and Saturday. The monument from Tarifa will live its day of doors open at night with guided tours at 10:00 p.m. and 12:00 p.m. Registration can be made from 9:30 p.m. at the door of the old citadel.

The art samples of collages by Lola Narváez in the room of the Old Royal Prison; wave abstract work by Marta Pérez-Malumbres in the multipurpose room of the Castle will be another attraction of the White Night.

The councilors for Culture, Ezequiel Andréu and Tourism, Sebastián Galindo have agreed to highlight the double aspect of a program that tries to boost the cultural offer and favor the seasonality of tourism.

The mayor of Tarifa, Francisco Ruiz, has also praised the determined commitment of a program that seeks to highlight the creative work of groups and performers from Tarifa from the conviction that "culture is a factor of economic revitalization."
