The Hot Air Balloon Festival is postponed to March.

The event will take place from the 24th to the 26th of next month, given that the weather forecast for this Friday, Saturday and Sunday does not guarantee the safety of balloon flights.
The 1st Hot Air Balloon Festival scheduled for this weekend has had to be postponed to March 24, 25 and 26, due to poor weather forecasts announced for this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

As explained by the technical management of the event, "hot air balloons are very safe aircraft when the weather conditions are optimal, but they carry a risk when the weather is bad".

That is why, thinking about the safety of the teams and crews that were going to participate in the festival, the event has had to be suspended since this weekend the weather will not be adequate or the safest to take out the flight of the balloons.

However, and once the forecasts for the coming weeks have been consulted, the date of March 24 to 26 has been set for the celebration of the festival.

It must be taken into account that balloons are large aircraft, on average 25 meters high, and that they lack a rigid structure, since basically the pressure of the hot air is what keeps the sail (balloon) pressurized. Thus, both the force of the wind and the rainwater make it difficult, almost impossible, to inflate these devices.

The goal is for this festival to also serve as a tourist attraction, as an activity that can attract visitors to participate in it and then enjoy the charms of our city.

As announced by the company, "10 teams from all over the country will be invited, they will come from Barcelona, ​​Valencia, Madrid, Bilbao, Seville... to enjoy the city of El Puerto and offer two types of flights: one free, which will be on Saturday morning in the triangular area between Jerez, Puerto Real and El Puerto; and a captive flight, already in the afternoon, in different central squares of the city, in which a balloon will be anchored (which will not exceed the height of 8 meters from the ground) so that all the people who wish to can go up for free. and live the experience.
