From 12 to 20 October was held in the Fira de Barcelona Salón Internacional del Caravaning. This edition of the event coordinator of the caravaning in Spain has been the largest in area and number of exhibitors rv, caravans and campers. In addition, it is the first time it is held in a consecutive year to the last instead of every two years. And is that the sector is growing in our country. According to Aseicar (Spanish Association of Industry and Commerce of the Caravaning), in 2018 and delivered 7.046 rv, that is to say, a 21,86% more than in the previous year and a 445% compared to 2013. This Salón Internacional del Caravaning has grown by 17%, reaching 700 vehicles on display and more than 55,000 visitors.

The rv, the protagonists of the living room

The segment of the rv has been the largest presence at the show, with 26.000m2 and 27 exhibiters. This is one of the sectors that grew the most within the sites in recent years. The hatch of the camper has also been reflected, to be the second area that most grows on the surface of the exhibition: won 1.000m2 over the past year and now reaches 4.100m2. The fair, located in halls 3 and 4 of the Gran Via (L'hospitalet de Llobregat), has had over 36.000m2. They have crags more than 700 vehicles.

It is also relevant to the increase the space dedicated to the accessories, who has been close to 2,500 m2. This is almost double that of last year, with representation from 24 companies.

Activities caravanserais for rest

Besides getting to know the main developments and trends, visitors to the Salon International Caravaning have been able to enjoy five themed areas with a variety of activities: Barcelona Overland, Glamping, Carvaning Kids, Travelvaning and Gastrovaning. They have been able to witness expert lectures, presentations and dining experiences for the whole family.

A living protest to the autocaravanistas

The Platform of Rv Autonomous (PACA) took advantage of this massive event to vindicate the rights of the autocaravanistas. In that sense, he was critical of campsites and accommodations that, during the summer months, set parking illegal for this type of vehicle.

With its president, Jesús Gallardo to head, they called a boycott against this type of camping. Distributed to autocaravanistas different badges to identify themselves when consumed in bars and restaurants in the towns they visit, thus claiming their importance in the economy.
