Seville's Holy Week is one of the most beautiful in Spain. The entire city is dressed up to admire the beauty of the steps that run through its streets. The processions begin on Dolores Friday (April 7) and end on Easter Sunday (April 16, 2017).

One of the main attractions of Holy Week in Seville are its processions, dozens of brotherhoods parade through the streets of the city. They are sculptural ensembles of great cultural richness, which stage the different stories of the last seven days of Jesus' life.

The processions are usually held in the evening and during the day you can visit the churches from where the different steps start.

Each brotherhood follows a different itinerary, although the last part of all the routes is common to all and receives the name of ‘official race’ which ends in the Cathedral of Seville.

All the balconies are decorated, people dress up and from there the singers dedicate their arrows to the Virgin and Jesus.

Holy Week in Seville is a spectacle of light, color and smell, unique in the world that everyone should see at least once in their life.
