Did you know that Seville embraces its visitors?
And we are not referring only to a spiritual embrace, but also to the embrace in the form of a square that since 1929 amazes those who see it for the first time: the Plaza of Spain.
The Plaza de España is a spectacle of light and majesty. Framed in the Parque de María Luisa, this square was designed by the great Sevillian architect Aníbal González as an emblematic space of the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929.
The result was a unique palace-square in the world. Its proportions are lavish; It has a total area of 50,000 square meters, making it undoubtedly the most imposing square in Spain.
Along the entire perimeter of the square there is a 515-meter-long canal, which you can cross aboard a boat. Without a doubt, a romantic experience.
The four beautiful bridges that cross the canal represent the ancient kingdoms of Spain.
Two tall towers stand at the ends of the square, giving a perfect balance to the complex.
These towers can be seen from all over Seville.
The arcaded gallery that separates the open space of the square from the building invites you to walk through it.
Admire the impressive coffered ceiling.
A tribute from Spain to America
Throughout this embrace, or in other words, from one end of the square to the other, we recommend admiring the tiled benches that represent the provinces of Spain. This has become a frequent "ritual" for national visitors who seek to have their photo taken in front of the space dedicated to their province.
